Brooke's Story

Hi my name is Brooke. I am 24 old and I have a beautiful baby daughter called Alyssa and she is now 5 weeks old. Family Life Crisis Pregnancy Centre has been a great support to me during my pregnancy and after I gave birth to Alyssa. I have been through ups and downs in my life and finding out that I was pregnant again and on my own was a real worry. However I got the help, support and love that I needed to get me through the hardest decision I have every had to make in my life, which was whether I should have my baby.

Family Life Crisis Pregnancy Centre helped to see that my baby was real and not just a little peanut like I had thought. Alyssa’s heart was beating and I could see this for my own eyes on their ultra sound and I cried.

Alyssa was my second chance in life to make good changes from the bad and the Family Life staff have supported and encouraged me all the way.

I have achieved so much in the last year from their help that I would have never achieved on my own. I have met new people and other expectant Mothers and this has helped me gain confidence in myself and my abilities to help others in similar circumstances to my own.

Alyssa and I now live in our own house just up the road from the Centre. We visit at least twice a week and I feel at home and pretty much like a part of the furniture - the door is always open to me. I am eternally grateful to them for helping me when I was alone and facing a crisis.
